How often have I invited doubt over for dinner!?? How often I fixed doubt a drink as we sit by the window talking about my life, love, ministry, calling, and destiny.
I don’t know about you, but I am a man of faith, but I have entertained doubt. Big doubts, small doubts, old ones that never die, and young ones being born now.
Faith becomes jealous when I invite doubt over for dinner!
Once you and I start the journey in God’s will, the Bible says “Once you put your hand to the plow, don’t look back.” I think
that I look back some, but I really have the tendency to look forward and doubt what I can be or accomplish. And yet, faith tells me to keep going. Doubt will always say, “Check where you just plowed.”
It is here that doubt turns into shame. Even when Jesus stood naked and exposed before His accusers, He never looks over His shoulder and wonders “why?”
His nakedness covers my moments of doubt.
When doubt reduces faith, and shame comes from that lack of faith, you and I MUST plow ahead. When our eyes are focused straight ahead, doubt will subside in the fact that somehow, someway, God will come through and deliver…as He promises.
